Blackpool Bank Holiday Dates, Season 2012
The New Kent B&B Hotel is a family run hotel that was purchased on the 14th September 2007. We are now entering our 5th season as hoteliers in Blackpool and although there were many ups and downs in our first few seasons we have fully enjoyed all the challenges that were placed in front of us and look forward to the new challenges of the 2012 season in Blackpool.
We are working towards making a few minor improvements to ensure that the New Kent acquires a three star ‘Quality’ rating from ‘Visit Blackpool’ (in association with ‘Visit Britain’). This should all be complete by late 2011 and the start of the summer holiday period. Originally we would have liked to achieved this by the summer of 2010 however a few set backs (the Credit Crunch) along the way have slowed us down.
If you have any recommendations that you feel will add value to your stay and others in the future please feel free to discuss them with us.
A small plaque left from the previous owners suggests:
“If you like your experience tell others… If not tell us!”
Please relax and enjoy your stay
Bank Holiday dates 2011:
Bank holiday and public holidays in England and Wales
There are different bank and public holidays in different parts of the UK. There are currently six permanent bank holidays in England and Wales and an additional one in 2011 and 2012. Christmas Day and Good Friday are public holidays.
The expected bank and public holidays for England and Wales are listed in the table below.
Special bank holidays
There are laws that allow the dates of bank holidays to be changed, or other holidays to be declared, for example to celebrate special occasions.
It has been announced that there will be a special bank holiday in 2011 to celebrate the royal wedding and in 2012 to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The 2012 late May bank holiday will be moved to Monday 4 June 2012 and an additional Jubilee bank holiday will be on Tuesday 5 June 2012.
