Blackpool Hotels, North Shore
The New Kent is situated in the North Shore of Blackpool the quieter and more attractive part Blackpool where the more traditional visitor to Blackpool stays. The North Shore of Blackpool is the home to many B&B hotels that do not cater to the Stag and Hen culture that has swept through this beautiful seaside town over the last few decades.
Many of the visitors to the north shore are more cultured and many may say connesoirs of Blackpool’s finest offering – its ‘Coast Line.’ Taking a stroll along the sea front on a daily basis or a bike ride every now and again has certainly helped my family and I really enjoy the real heart of this amazing seaside town. Every day come rain or shine one will witness many people walking slowly along the North Shore promenade chatting to the fishermen who come daily to fish the incoming tide. One may think there is not a care in the world when one strolls up and down sitting every few hundred yards on on of the seats provided all the way from St. Annes to Fleetwood.
The first records that have been found on Blackpool date back to 1416. The Blackpool of yester year was known as ‘Le Poole the Pool.’ This area was a stream which ran though the bogs which turned the water black, hence the name ‘Blackpool.’ Fishermen and farmers started to build in the area around Bispham expanding along the shore line to Blackpool from the early 1600s.
The North Shore Promenade is a flat walk way that is safe to walk along without the worry of cars coming past every few seconds, it is also has the refreshing breeze from the sea.
