The Blackpool Illuminations  2010 will be switched on September 3rd and will run until November 7th.

Blackpool’s Illuminations are switched on annually at the start of September and continue, nightly, until the first week of November. The illuminations consist of many a glowing tableau, large illuminated models, and laser lights. Fibre optics and computer control have brought a new dimension to Britain’s biggest tourist attraction. The illuminated displays stretch along the sea front from Starr Gate to Bispham. The sea front is lit up like a Belicia beacon with the view of the lights being an array of colours that can be seen afar.

For most parents and children this is a period of six to seven weeks depending on the area of the country you live in. For hoteliers this period can span eight to nine weeks as the different counties around the country tend to break up at different times.
